Wedding Shower Tip: Make Things Easier for the Bride

Instead of having guests sign a standard guest-book as they arrive, a nice idea is to create a unique book that will make the bride’s job much easier when it is time to send out thank you notes.

Start with a three ring binder.  Insert sheets of labels that have adhesive backing.  You may need to use a hole punch and cut down the sheets to make them fit into the binder.

As guests enter the shower, ask them to sign the book, filling out a label with their name and address.  It helps if you or another guest fills out a label so everyone sees what is expected and follows that lead.

The maid of honor or the person throwing the shower should then keep the book beside her throughout the shower and make notes regarding which gift each guest gave.  This can be handled easily by adding sticky notes next to each label.

When it is time for the bride to send thank you notes, all she has to do is peel a label, attach it to the coordinating envelope, and make a note inside the card that mentions the gift.  This is much quicker and easier than addressing individual envelopes and looking through cards to see who gave what.

The bride may send you an extra thank you note for this thoughtful, helpful idea!
