How to Prepare to Be the Maid of Honor

In today’s video we see Beck again who shares with us some tips on how one should prepare to be the Maid of Honor at a wedding.

There are several steps that you are going to want to make. The first is save! This is not a task that you’re taking on without a financial responsibility. You’re going to have to buy your dress, shoes and possibly also hair and makeup on the day too. You are also most likely to have travel expenses. Consider these things when you offer to be the Maid of Honor for your friend.

At the same time, there’s many more things to do such as keep up with the rest of the wedding party, send out frequent emails to let the bride know you’re on top of it. Maybe take time to get the sizes of the girls so that you can take care of the fittings and things like that.

Also, just take care of the bride. That’s one of your biggest responsibilities! When things get too hectic in the planning of the wedding take the time to take the bride out to lunch, give her a call, send her a card, or whatever else you think is appropriate from where your are located. Just to get her mind off the wedding for a few minutes, and to offer to take over some of the jobs and responsibilities if there’s anything you can do.

One of the most stressful things for the bride if when the RSVPs don’t come in! Take the time and offer to call some of her friend and family, and help her figure out who’s going to attend the wedding.

As far as the wedding day goes itself, help the bride get into her dress, make sure all the little details are taken care of, make sure that she eats that day and that she has something to drink during the wedding. Also take the time to thank her, and if it’s appropriate give her a toast. Usually the Best Man does the toast, but there’s always an opportunity for the Maid of Honor as well to do so.

Share for moments! Make sure that they’re happy and keep the bride stress free.

These are just some tips to help you prepare to be a Maid of Honor.
